Have I ever mentioned that I love beer? I also have a favorite brewery: Deschutes Brewery in Bend, Oregon makes some of my favorite beers from Fresh Squeezed IPA, Black Butte Porter, Mirror Pond Pale Ale and even the festive Jubilale are all delicious in their own ways!
The event took place on October 14th from 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm and took up the blocks on Capitol and 18th Avenues in midtown Sacramento. At the event food and brew were available to all and Deschutes put up a pub down the middle of the streets. Upon arrival guests purchased wooden tokens to exchange for beer at $5.00 each! It was a bargain for some tasty craft beverages and a wonderful atmosphere, especially considering the free admission. A portion of proceeds from this event are donated to local nonprofits, and according to their event page Deschutes has been able to raise over $840,000 dollars in past years!
I didn’t leave without scoring an event branded T-shirt and bottle opener keychain. Now I am awaiting a day on the mountain with my snowboard rounded out with a Black Butte Porter in the lodge! Sacramento, CA was one of five stops in the United States and I feel lucky that Deschutes returned with over 50 taps for the third year in a row. Let’s all hope they are back next October! You can be sure I’ll check it out again. Judging from the packed streets with locals and friends from out of town I would say the rest of Sacramento loved the event just as much as I did! Thank you Deschutes Brewery!
